The Gentle Art of Learning
Play is the primary way in which young children learn, grow, and face new challenges. As they play, children are inspired by the relationships found in the persons, places, things, and ideas they interact with regularly. They need these play opportunities to accomplish important jobs, contribute to others, and explore who they are and what they will become.
Our environment, curriculum, and materials are designed to support children as they explore these relationships and build connections through meaningful interactions and experiences. At Green Gate Early Learning, your child will have many opportunities to create, explore, and learn about the world around them.
Our curriculum is centered around seasonal nature themes and the activities of daily life on the homestead- what we refer to as "The Living Arts". Creative expression, practical activity, social ability, and nurturing rhythms & routines are the core of our early childhood program.
As children move through their days, we incorporate traditional preschool developmental learning activities such as literature lessons, vocabulary and phonemic awareness activities, science experiments, math connections, art & sensory experiences, and nature explorations. Our daily rhythm and routines guide children through meaningful living and learning experiences in a way that feels very natural to them.
These rich and diverse experiences help each child deepen their sense of self, make healthy life choices, build compassion for others, become stewards of their environment, and think creatively and critically.
